Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour in-house labor and delivery coverage on the Silvis campus, ensuring continuous, high-quality care
• Manage obstetric patients through triage, labor, delivery (vaginal and C-sections), and postpartum care
• Respond promptly to emergency gynecologic cases and perform inpatient consultations as needed
• Collaborate closely with nursing, anesthesia, and surgical teams during procedures and deliveries
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using the Cerner EMR
• Support triage workflows by personally evaluating OB triage patients while on call
• Participate in OR time for surgical deliveries and other procedures as scheduled

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program
• Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active or eligible for Illinois medical license and ability to obtain local hospital privileges
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NRP or neonatal resuscitation experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with inpatient labor & delivery, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and familiar with inpatient triage workflows

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology

Knowledge & Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology clinical practice
• Strong labor and delivery management including operative deliveries (C-sections)
• Triage assessment and high-volume triage management (10-15 triages/day typical)
• Procedural and OR experience, including perioperative coordination
• Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy and lab processes
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and leadership during emergent situations
