Shift Type: Rotating day shifts: 12-hour shifts 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 10-hour shifts 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, or 9-hour shifts 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM. Schedule varies by assignment and rotates across weekdays and weekends, includes overnight call approximately every 1-2 weeks and weekend call approximately every 4-5 weeks. Holidays are included in the call rotation. Shift type: Rotating

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure operative safety and infection control
• Collaborate proactively with surgeons, anesthetists, and the perioperative team to coordinate patient care
• Monitor patient condition and respond swiftly to changes during surgery
• Perform thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and promptly
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Support colleagues during call rotations and contribute to a positive, team-focused environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification required (state licensure expected)
• BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Experience in operating room or perioperative nursing (preferred)
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations as listed (fit test, drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, varicella, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with operating room instrumentation and supplies
• Skilled in patient assessment and intraoperative monitoring
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and situational awareness in the OR
• Ability to manage on-call responsibilities and respond to urgent situations
• Comfort with competency testing and maintaining specialty-specific skills
