Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a busy ER
• Rapidly assess and triage patients, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical need
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions in accordance with ACLS/PALS/BLS protocols
• Perform focused neurological assessments using NIHSS when indicated
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary colleagues to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Adhere to infection control, vaccination and health screening requirements to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license required)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• NIHSS competency required
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Competency Testing, Trinity Skills Checklist, fit test and required health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and triage skills
• Proficiency in ACLS/PALS/BLS protocols and NIHSS stroke assessment
• Comfort managing a fast-paced, unpredictable ED environment
• Excellent clinical judgment, prioritization and time management
• Clear communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary teams
• Willingness to complete unit-specific competency testing and skills validation
