Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess emergency patients rapidly and accurately using ESI guidelines
- Provide high-acuity nursing care including airway management and critical interventions
- Perform IV insertion, medication administration, EKG acquisition and interpretation
- Assist with intubation, rapid sequence intubation and code response when needed
- Deliver trauma, STEMI, stroke and sepsis care according to protocol and best practice
- Document patient care clearly and promptly in Meditech and support smooth care transitions
- Coordinate transport and preparation for higher levels of care when required
- Practice infection control and isolation protocols to keep patients and staff safe
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) — RN title required for the role
- Minimum 5 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a high-acuity setting
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; TNCC preferred
- ENPC and CPI certifications listed as required/preferred
- Strong triage, critical thinking and trauma/cardiac/acute care experience
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and cover scheduled weekends
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Department nursing and triage expertise
- Airway management, intubation and CPR/code response skills
- IV therapy, medication administration and moderate sedation support
- EKG interpretation and cardiac/STEMI care
- Care of stroke, sepsis, trauma and behavioral health patients
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Infection control, isolation protocols and rapid reassessment in fast-paced environments
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus for patient communication
