Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, rotating nights including weekends (4 weekend shifts per month: Friday - Sunday)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care for oncology and hematology patients, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy regimens, continuous infusions, IV push chemo, and supportive medications safely and per protocol
- Perform blood product administration and manage transfusion-related monitoring and documentation
- Manage central lines, ports, PICC lines and infusion pumps with precision and infection prevention practices
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis, sepsis, hemorrhage, extravasation) to protect patient safety
- Lead and mentor unit staff — assist with staffing, patient flow, and clinical decision-making
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate abnormal labs or changes in condition to the multidisciplinary team
- Promote neutropenic and isolation precautions, body fluid handling after chemotherapy, and cytotoxic spill management
Qualifications
- Active state nursing license (RN) — required
- Minimum 3 years oncology nursing experience (hematology preferred) — required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications — required
- CHEMO certification (ONS/ONCC or equivalent) — required
- EPIC charting experience — required
- Comfort with inpatient oncology workflows, transfusions, and complex infusion therapies
- Travel nurse experience not required — first-time travelers welcome if experience requirement is met
- Ability to float to other units and participate in weekend rotation
Education
- Active RN license required; ADN/BSN accepted
- BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Proficiency with IV therapy, infusion pumps, and central/port care
- Strong assessment skills for oncologic complications and treatment side effects
- Familiarity with blood product administration and coagulation factor use
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Excellent patient/family education and psychosocial support skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and act as a clinical resource
- Competence in infection control, neutropenic precautions, and cytotoxic handling
