Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Option A: Five days per week (specific days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Evening); Option B: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Four 10-hour day shifts); Option C: Overnight 10-12 hour night shifts available (schedule varies)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $32 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Process, decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments with care and precision
- Operate sterilization equipment and follow validated sterilization cycles to ensure patient safety
- Maintain accurate instrument tracking and documentation so the OR has the right tools at the right time
- Collaborate with perioperative teams to prioritize case instrument sets and support busy surgical schedules
- Identify, report, and troubleshoot instrument issues to prevent delays and uphold quality standards
- Support quality assurance and infection control initiatives to keep standards high and compliance solid
Qualifications
- Experience in sterile processing with demonstrated competency in instrument sterilization
- Level II or Level I trauma center experience required as listed in the posting
- Strong experience with orthopedic and robotic instrument processing
- Comfortable working evening, day, or overnight 10-12 hour shifts as assigned
- Current certification preferred: CRCST or CBSPD (if you have it, great; if not, show us your experience)
- Ability to pass background check and meet employer onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; sterile processing certificate or technical training preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of sterilization methods, instrument assembly, and decontamination best practices
- Familiarity with orthopedic and robotic instrument sets and specialty handling requirements
- Comfort with sterilization equipment, instrument washers, autoclaves, and tracking systems
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and infection prevention mindset
- Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with surgical and perioperative staff
