Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality labor & delivery, postpartum and newborn care with compassion and clinical excellence
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret tracings to keep moms and babies safe
- Assist and circulate in Cesarean deliveries and support vaginal deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
- Manage IV therapy, start and maintain IVs, and administer blood and blood products safely
- Place and calibrate IUPC and perform sterile vaginal exams as needed
- Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and support infection control/isolation precautions
- Operate and manage epidural and PCA pumps, and manage critical drips such as insulin and magnesium sulfate
- Triage obstetrical patients, prioritize care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes
- Provide newborn care, couplet care, and immediate neonatal support including NRP when required
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Valid RN license — WA state license or active Compact RN license (Swedish facilities honor active compact licenses)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in LDRP / Labor & Delivery / Postpartum and Newborn care
- Required certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP (ACLS preferred)
- Comfort circulating in OR/C-section, assisting with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, and providing high-risk L&D care
- Charting experience required — Epic preferred
- Ability to float as needed and work night 12-hour shifts
- Note: Previous permanent Providence employees must have a minimum 3-month separation from the health system to qualify for travel roles
- Travel experience not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Fetal monitoring interpretation and intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) placement
- OB triage, antepartum care, and LDRP unit workflows
- Blood/blood product administration and IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) and IV start skills
- Use and troubleshooting of epidural and PCA pumps
- Management of critical meds: insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, anticoagulation and antihypertensives
- Couplet care and newborn assessment/resuscitation (NRP)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills (Epic)
