Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and deliver individualized treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and modalities
• Document assessments, treatment progress and discharge plans accurately and timely in the EMR
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to coordinate high-quality patient care
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safe mobility and injury prevention
• Monitor outcomes and adjust plans of care to maximize patient functional recovery
• Participate in unit-based initiatives and quality improvement efforts to enhance patient experience

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Maryland or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an accredited provider
• Strong clinical reasoning and hands-on skills in rehabilitation techniques
• Comfortable with timely EMR documentation and professional communication
• Preferred: prior experience in rehab, outpatient or contract settings

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
• Or equivalent degree in physical therapy and successful completion of required licensing

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
• Gait training and functional mobility expertise
• Manual therapy techniques and safe patient handling
• Outcome measurement and goal-driven care planning
• Effective patient and family education skills
• Interdisciplinary teamwork and care coordination abilities
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
