Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality therapeutic interventions under the direction of the supervising PT
- Assist patients with mobility, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities to improve outcomes
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the PT and interdisciplinary team
- Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the patient record
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
- Collaborate with nursing and rehab staff to ensure seamless, patient-centered care
- Maintain equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Washington state or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
- Completion of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree or higher)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Comfortable working with a diverse adult patient population in a rehab/contract setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a rehab team
- Prior experience as a PTA preferred but new grads from accredited programs are welcome to apply
Education
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program (required)
- Additional coursework or certifications in rehab specialties a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of therapeutic exercise principles and functional training
- Skilled in gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
- Good clinical documentation and time-management skills
- Ability to follow care plans and modify interventions based on patient response
- Familiarity with outpatient and inpatient rehab environments and safety protocols
