Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality therapeutic interventions under the direction of the supervising PT
• Assist patients with mobility, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities to improve outcomes
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the PT and interdisciplinary team
• Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the patient record
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
• Collaborate with nursing and rehab staff to ensure seamless, patient-centered care
• Maintain equipment, ensure a safe treatment environment, and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Washington state or ability to obtain licensure prior to start
• Completion of an accredited PTA program (Associate degree or higher)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Comfortable working with a diverse adult patient population in a rehab/contract setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a rehab team
• Prior experience as a PTA preferred but new grads from accredited programs are welcome to apply

Education

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program (required)
• Additional coursework or certifications in rehab specialties a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of therapeutic exercise principles and functional training
• Skilled in gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
• Good clinical documentation and time-management skills
• Ability to follow care plans and modify interventions based on patient response
• Familiarity with outpatient and inpatient rehab environments and safety protocols
