Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties and maintain a sterile field during CVOR and vascular procedures
• Assist surgeons and OR team in elective, scheduled and emergency cases
• Prepare and transport patients safely for operative procedures
• Support vascular surgical procedures, including setup and instrument handling
• Respond quickly and competently during emergency procedures
• Contribute to ongoing education and maintain competency in OR practices and technologies
• Collaborate with perioperative team members to ensure smooth case flow and patient safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of surgical technologist experience required
• Strong CVOR experience and vascular proficiency required
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification required
• Provide full work history and a skills checklist current to within 1 year, pertinent to CVOR
• Two supervisory reference forms completed with dates employed listed are required
• Applicant must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Applicants who were direct employees of the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven scrub techniques and sterile technique in the operating room
• Operating room assistance including instrument handling and case setup
• Surgical patient preparation and safe patient transportation
• Familiarity with vascular surgical procedures and CVOR workflows
• Comfort with emergency procedures and rapid response in the OR
• Experience with Cerner EMR and exposure to robotics is a plus
• Strong communication, teamwork and situational awareness in high-acuity settings
