Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and continual monitoring of critically ill patients
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care based on AACN standards
• Prioritize patient problems and intervene to prevent life-threatening complications
• Manage airway and ventilation needs and provide advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
• Assist with temporary pacemaker insertion and coordinate ambulance transport when needed
• Maintain current knowledge and clinical competency through mandatory education and skills practice
• Collaborate with unit leadership and the interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (able to meet state licensure requirements for practice)
• Experience in ICU or PCU / critical care nursing
• Working knowledge of AACN critical care standards and expectations
• Preference given to clinicians with EPIC experience
• Ability to perform assessment, care planning and life-threatening emergency management
• Willingness to work scheduled 12-hour day shifts and participate in required competencies

• Critical care nursing principles and bedside assessment
• Patient assessment and individualized care planning
• Airway and ventilation management
• Hemodynamic monitoring and stability management
• Cardiac arrhythmia recognition and emergency response
• Assisting with temporary pacemaker procedures
• Familiarity with EPIC (preferred)
• Comfort working to AACN standards in a fast-paced environment
