Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field and surgical instrumentation with precision
- Anticipate surgeon needs and hand instruments efficiently to keep cases moving
- Perform accurate instrument and sponge counts to ensure patient safety
- Assist with room turnover and set-up to support OR throughput
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and techs to deliver exceptional perioperative care
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and safety standards at all times
- Document case details and communicate clearly during handoffs
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent ORT experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the operating room or perioperative setting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced OR environment and following sterile technique
- Active certifications or credentials required by the facility (to be presented upon hire)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative protocols
- Familiarity with common OR instruments, equipment and surgical workflows
- Ability to perform accurate counts and handle instruments safely
- Clear communication and teamwork skills to support the surgical team
- Adaptability and problem-solving during case changes or turnover
