Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function with thoughtful, evidence-based approaches
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients meet meaningful communication goals
- Document patient progress accurately and efficiently in the medical record to support continuity of care
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members, families, and caregivers to coordinate care and maximize outcomes
- Provide patient and family education to empower communication strategies across settings
- Manage a caseload with professionalism, prioritizing safety, quality, and compassionate care
Qualifications
- State license as a Speech Language Pathologist (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Clinical experience working with pediatric and/or adult populations is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Reliable documentation and time-management skills, with experience using electronic health records considered a plus
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related graduate degree (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skill in standardized and informal assessment tools for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches and augmentative/alternative communication options
- Strong interpersonal skills for family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to individualize therapy plans and modify approaches based on patient response
- Comfortable with clinical documentation, insurance requirements, and care coordination
