Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care including medication administration and wound care
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient responses, and clinical changes accurately
• Collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary team members to deliver individualized care plans
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the facility’s charting system
• Support safe admissions, discharges, and patient transfers during your shift
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy to support recovery and wellness
• Ensure infection control practices and compliance with facility policies and procedures
• Advocate for patients’ needs and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical staff

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in Alabama (or compact/eligible where applicable)
• Current BLS/CPR certification required prior to start
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
• Comfortable working overnight rotations and adapting to a 12-hour schedule
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
• Prior long-term care or med-surg experience is a plus but not required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent LPN training

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in medication administration and basic clinical procedures
• Skilled in taking and interpreting vital signs and recognizing patient changes
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Good time management and prioritization during busy night shifts
• Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, and facility protocols
• Customer-service mindset with empathy for patients and families
