Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on occupational therapy interventions that help patients regain independence
- Assess patient needs and develop meaningful, goal-oriented treatment plans
- Collaborate with OTs, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families to support carry-over of therapeutic gains
- Document progress accurately and timely in the patient record
- Ensure safety by maintaining equipment and following best-practice infection control
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture by mentoring peers and sharing clinical insights
Qualifications
- Active COTA certification (required)
- Graduation from an accredited OTA/OTA program
- Montana licensure or ability to obtain state authorization for practice
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Previous clinical experience as a COTA is preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
Education
- Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic activities and adaptive techniques to promote function
- Proficient with patient assessment and documentation best practices
- Comfortable working with a variety of adult patient populations
- Solid time-management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with electronic health records and basic clinical outcome measures
- Ability to instruct and motivate patients and families in a compassionate way
