Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents using clinical assessments to determine functional abilities and therapy needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on restoring independence and safety
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve function, mobility, and ADLs
- Train residents and caregivers on strategies and adaptive techniques to support daily living
- Collaborate closely with nursing and rehabilitation staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in team meetings, mentorship, and continuing education to keep skills sharp and share best practices
Qualifications
- Current California Occupational Therapist (OT) license (required)
- Strong interpersonal and clinical skills with a commitment to compassionate care
- Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute care preferred but not required
- Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing, rehab staff, and interdisciplinary teams
- Reliable documentation skills and familiarity with regulatory compliance
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in treatment planning and therapeutic interventions
- Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assessment and training
- Strong documentation practices and understanding of regulatory requirements
- Clinical assessment and resident evaluation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
