Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adults and/or adolescents
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other medications safely and accurately
• Closely monitor patients for treatment response and side effects, intervening as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, social workers and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, symptom management and discharge instructions
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Adhere to infection control, chemotherapy safety and institutional policies to protect patients and staff
• Participate in unit-based process improvement and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in the state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with oncology experience strongly preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and oncology infusion/chemotherapy certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to safely administer and monitor complex therapies
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy/biotherapy administration
• Familiarity with infusion pumps, central line management and symptom control
• Skilled in patient assessment, triage and clinical decision-making
• Comfortable with electronic medical record documentation and medication safety systems
• Ability to provide clear patient and family education and emotional support
• Time management, prioritization and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment

This is a travel assignment in the Aurora/Denver area, so enjoy easy access to urban and outdoor fun.
