Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons as First Assist across general, robotics, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology and vascular cases
• Circulate and support operating room workflow for laparoscopic, open and robotic procedures including Da Vinci Xi and Velys Robot cases
• Provide safe, patient-centered care during labor & delivery procedures including vaginal deliveries and C-sections
• Accurately document perioperative care in Meditech and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Prepare instruments, equipment and robotic setups; ensure sterile field integrity and surgical counts
• Respond professionally and quickly for on-call activations, supporting emergent cases when needed
• Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia and surgeons to optimize patient outcomes and unit efficiency

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and CSFA required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant OR/First Assist experience (as stated)
• Meditech EMR experience required
• Proven experience with circulating in general surgery and robotics; exposure to neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gyn and vascular cases
• Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
• Able to meet on-call response expectations (30-minute response time)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Meditech electronic charting
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi and Velys robotic systems
• Skilled in circulating for general surgery and providing first assist support
• Familiarity with vascular procedures (AV fistula, FEM/POP bypass) and pediatric/adult case variations
• Strong teamwork, communication and receptiveness to feedback
• Ability to follow unit policies, maintain sterile technique and manage surgical instrumentation
