Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, primarily nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (NOC). Rotation may include day shifts 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM no more than weekly. Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday; may float to PCU/MS/ER holds as needed.

Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver expert med/telemetry and PCU-level nursing care for adults and geriatrics, ensuring safety and dignity
- Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and act promptly on changes
- Titrate IV drips safely and accurately per protocol (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, low-dose Dopamine)
- Provide post-cardiac cath, EP study, and pacemaker care with close attention to hemodynamics
- Collaborate with physicians, RTs, techs and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate exceptional patient care
- Document clear, timely, and thorough patient notes in Epic to support continuity of care
- Support unit flow by floating to PCU, medical-surgical, and ER hold areas as needed
- Serve as a patient advocate and educator, explaining care plans and promoting recovery
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible for submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Telemetry or cardiac nursing experience (PCU experience required)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Comfortable reading and interpreting rhythm strips independently
- Proven experience titrating cardiac and hemodynamic drips
- Epic charting experience preferred but not mandatory
- Willingness to float and work every other weekend/holiday as scheduled; open to first-time travel nurses
Education
- Nursing degree (BSN not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring expertise, including rhythm strip interpretation
- PCU/stepdown care knowledge: post-cath, EP studies, pacemaker management
- IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
- Familiarity with respiratory support equipment (BiPAP, trach, Airvo) and troubleshooting
- Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills in acute care settings
- Ability to work with tele/monitor techs and coordinate patient surveillance
- Efficient Epic documentation and electronic chart management
