Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough psychiatric evaluations and deliver compassionate mental health care to patients
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including medication management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity
• Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately and timely in the medical record
• Participate in training activities and support ongoing staff education during the orientation period
• Support quality improvement efforts and contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with completed Psychiatry residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
• Valid California medical license or ability to obtain licensure in California
• DEA registration or ability to obtain required prescribing credentials
• Experience or interest in working within correctional or forensic settings preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility clearances

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) and completed Psychiatry residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong psychiatric assessment and diagnostic skills
• Medication management and psychopharmacology knowledge
• Crisis intervention and risk assessment experience
• Excellent clinical documentation and electronic health record familiarity
• Clear communication and teamwork with clinical and security staff
• Cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care approach
