Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to identify functional strengths, limitations, and meaningful goals
- Design and implement individualized occupational therapy interventions that improve daily living and independence
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians, and family members to create coordinated care plans
- Provide adaptive equipment recommendations, splinting, and assistive technology as indicated
- Educate patients and caregivers to promote safe, effective carryover at home and in the community
- Document thoroughly and timely to support quality outcomes and regulatory compliance
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize patient outcomes and satisfaction
Qualifications
- Active California Occupational Therapist license (required)
- NBCOT certification preferred or working toward certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain prior to start)
- Experience in post-acute care, skilled nursing, or rehab settings preferred but new graduates with strong clinical skills are welcome to apply
- Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Master's in Occupational Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) preferred; equivalent entry-level degree accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in functional assessments and ADL training
- Knowledge of splinting, adaptive equipment, and mobility aids
- Proficient with documentation, care planning, and outcome measurement
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families
- Strong time management and prioritization to manage caseloads efficiently
