Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver hands-on therapy and therapeutic exercise to improve mobility, strength and function
- Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and outcomes tracking
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to optimize patient recovery
- Educate patients and families on home programs, injury prevention and safe mobility
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives at the facility
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist in Maine or eligible for Maine licensure
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in outpatient or contract rehab settings is a strong plus
- Strong clinical reasoning and hands-on manual therapy skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; master or other relevant degree considered
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in orthopedic and neurological rehab principles
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription and functional mobility training
- Comfortable with patient assessment, goal setting and progress measurement
- Knowledge of safety, infection control and documentation standards
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
- Strong time management and organizational skills
