Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess functional abilities and create individualized occupational therapy plans that help patients regain independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions and adaptive techniques to improve daily living skills
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to coordinate care and support patient goals
• Document patient progress clearly and timely to ensure continuity of care
• Train and supervise support staff and COTAs when applicable to maintain high-quality therapy services
• Modify activities and equipment recommendations to match changing patient needs and safety requirements

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) in Vermont or eligible for Vermont licensure
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) considered for COTA-class roles
• New graduates welcome — we will consider clinicians new to the field
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
• Reliable professional references and ability to pass background checks as required

Education

• Entry-level: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy or OTA program (BS/BA, MOT, MS or OTA diploma/certificate as applicable)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Experience with documentation in clinical settings and familiarity with therapeutic modalities
• Ability to develop clear, measurable treatment goals and progress reports
• Comfortable working across disciplines and educating patients and families
• Good clinical reasoning, time management and prioritization skills
