Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care and ventilator management for neonatal and pediatric patients in NICU/PICU settings
- Perform respiratory assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and monitor patient response
- Deliver airway management, emergency respiratory interventions, and participate in codes as needed
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete required competency checklists such as the Trinity Skills Checklist
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and facility policies while supporting family-centered care
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- NICU and PICU experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NRP and PALS certifications preferred or required per unit needs
- License and certificate verification will be completed prior to start
- Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and any facility-required competency evaluations
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ventilator management and neonatal/pediatric respiratory support skills
- Proficiency in advanced airway techniques and emergency respiratory interventions
- Ability to perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and interpret clinical data
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity environments
- Familiarity with facility competency processes and readiness to complete required testing and health screenings
