Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments using history, physical exam and diagnostic data to shape individualized care plans
• Collaborate with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to set meaningful, achievable care goals
• Provide clear pre- and post-operative and dialysis education to patients and families to promote safe recoveries
• Deliver compassionate, reliable nursing care for neurology and oncology patients in the dialysis setting
• Mentor and precept new associates to build a confident and skilled nursing team
• Engage in hospital governance and performance improvement initiatives to elevate patient outcomes and unit practice
• Document assessments, interventions and patient education clearly and timely to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required)
• Current RN licensure in Iowa or a compact state (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
• Multicultural sensitivity and commitment to providing respectful, patient-centered care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and development of nursing diagnoses
• Experienced with care planning and implementing individualized interventions
• Strong patient and family education skills, including pre/post-op and dialysis-related teaching
• Mentoring and precepting experience to support new staff development
• Familiarity with hospital governance and performance improvement processes
• Clinical exposure or interest in neurology, oncology and dialysis care
• BLS competency and commitment to patient safety
