Shift Type: Rotating shifts — Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; holiday coverage and every-3rd-weekend rotation. Part-time options available with the same day/night windows. Weekend package option: Days 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM for a 4-consecutive-weekends schedule (72 hours across those weekends) with every 5th weekend off.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process and specialty clinical skills
• Perform thorough clinical assessments and implement evidence-based interventions to promote recovery
• Ensure patient and workplace safety by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting concerns immediately
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation to maintain a clear legal record of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and consult appropriate resources to provide specialized education
• Support continuous professional development and share best practices through networking and unit-based learning

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)
• Current, active Registered Nurse license in Iowa (license in good standing) — Compact allowed
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — current and maintained
• Experience or comfort working in Medical-Surgical settings (post-op care, general med/surg, cardiac, stroke, dialysis care)
• Willingness to work rotating day/night shifts, holidays and weekend rotations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN must be obtained within 12 years of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong command of the nursing process and clinical assessment skills
• Clinical documentation proficiency to maintain accurate patient records
• Patient and workplace safety practices, including infection prevention
• Experience with cardiac care (post-cath), stroke care and congestive heart failure management
• Comfort with respiratory care (COVID/pneumonia) and dialysis (CAPD) performed on the floor
• Post-operative care experience, including total joint replacement recovery
