Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x8 day schedule (4 days per week, variable days); Day shifts: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM; potential to pick up a 5th day. Day shift coverage with variable starts.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy and complex infusions safely and accurately, following established protocols.
- Prepare, start and maintain IVs, PICC lines and ports with careful technique and documentation.
- Monitor patients receiving transfusions, hydration, and continuous chemotherapy for adverse reactions and intervene promptly.
- Manage infusion pumps and ensure correct delivery of medications and fluids.
- Perform central line blood draws and maintain vascular access integrity.
- Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and clinical changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families about treatments, side-effect management and home care.
- Float to other UCSF facilities as needed and collaborate effectively across teams to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Active CA Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- ONS chemo certification preferred (Chemo certification such as ONCC/ONS preferred)
- Minimum 3 years infusion experience (explicitly required)
- Minimum 2 years oncology experience (explicitly required)
- Experience with infusion administration, transfusion therapy, hydration and pain management
- Travel experience required
- COVID-19 vaccination plus booster required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability and willingness to float to other UCSF facilities
Education
- Active CA Registered Nurse license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong infusion therapy skills including IV therapy, PICC/port care and central line blood draws
- Chemotherapy administration and continuous infusion monitoring
- Transfusion therapy and safe administration of blood products
- Infusion pump management and troubleshooting
- Ability to recognize and act on abnormal lab values and patient changes
- Excellent patient education and communication skills
- Adaptability to float between units and work within interdisciplinary teams
