Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to adults in an acute care setting
• Assess patient condition, monitor changes, and respond to clinical needs promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Participate in shift handoffs and accurate electronic charting to ensure continuity of care
• Support unit efficiency by assisting with triage, admission, and discharge processes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or active compact RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred
• Previous acute care or med-surg experience preferred but motivated new grads welcome to apply
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Current Basic Nursing certifications and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of nursing assessment, medication administration, and IV therapy
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, overnight clinical environment
• Excellent communication and patient/family education skills
• Team-oriented approach and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
