Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and med-surg patients during overnight shifts
• Perform thorough patient assessments and timely documentation to support excellent outcomes
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Support post-operative care and monitoring for orthopedic patients, including pain management and mobility support
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and escalating needs
• Participate in competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Valid RN license (active) — license verification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience or comfort working in Orthopedics and Med-Surg environments
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Must be able to pass fit testing, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and teamwork mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in Orthopedics and Med-Surg care
• Post-operative monitoring and wound care
• Patient assessment, vital signs interpretation, and timely escalation
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Clear, concise documentation and handoff communication
• Patient and family education with a focus on safe discharge and mobility
