Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality individual, group, and family therapy to adults in a correctional mental health setting
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that drive measurable progress
• Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation when urgent needs arise
• Collaborate with correctional staff and a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and clinical notes to meet facility and regulatory standards
• Participate in case reviews, treatment team meetings, and discharge planning
• Support program development and evidence-based interventions tailored to the population

Qualifications

• Active LMFT license (or LCSW, LPCC, or Psychologist credentials considered)
• Experience in mental health treatment, ideally working with adult populations
• Comfort working in a correctional or institutional setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
• Current CPR/First Aid as required by facility policies (if applicable)
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required onboarding

Education

• Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field

Knowledge & Skills

• Trauma-informed care and best practices in behavioral health
• Group therapy facilitation and family systems approaches
• Crisis management and de-escalation techniques
• Familiarity with mental health documentation and electronic health records
• Cultural humility and the ability to build therapeutic rapport quickly
• Good communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
