Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care as a licensed RN, prioritizing assessment and timely interventions
- Perform NIH Stroke Scale assessments and document findings accurately to support rapid stroke care decisions
- Administer and monitor treatments and medications per facility protocols and physician orders
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized patient care plans
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to demonstrate role proficiency
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate changes in patient status to the care team
- Adhere to infection control, immunization, and safety protocols including fit testing and required screenings
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (license verification is required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with the NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — certification or documented experience required
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Ability to complete required health screenings and immunizations: Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, PPD/IGRA (2-step) or Quantiferon/T-Spot, Varicella, and a physical/health statement
- Comfort working on a travel/contract long-term assignment and adapting quickly to facility workflows
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN). BSN preferred when available.
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in comprehensive nursing assessment and clinical documentation
- Knowledge of stroke assessment and emergency response workflows (NIHSS experience)
- Familiarity with infection prevention practices and employee health requirements
- Competence in medication administration, IV therapy, and patient monitoring
- Ability to follow facility-specific competency testing and demonstrate procedural skills
- Good teamwork, prioritization, and patient education skills
