Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor respiratory status of patients, using clinical judgment to guide care plans
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory therapies with attention to safety and best practices
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results to optimize patient ventilation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support critical care and step-down patients
• Educate patients and families on respiratory techniques and equipment use with compassion
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure reliable, safe operation
• Respond quickly and effectively to respiratory emergencies and code situations

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license or eligible for licensure in New Hampshire
• NBRC credentialing such as RRT or CRT preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable
• Experience with ventilator management and critical care respiratory therapy
• Comfortable working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Arterial blood gas analysis and interpretation
• Oxygen therapy, aerosolized medication delivery, and pulmonary hygiene techniques
• Infection control practices specific to respiratory care
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and clinical workflows
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, acute care environment
