Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care for patients across acuity levels during night shifts
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway support, adjusting settings per physician orders
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases and other respiratory diagnostics
• Deliver neonatal and pediatric resuscitation support when needed, following NRP and PALS protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, device use and discharge plans
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure proper infection control
• Complete required documentation, competency checklists and participate in Prime Core Competencies testing

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapy license with ability to verify license and certifications
• Current BLS certification required
• Current PALS, ACLS and NRP certifications required
• DCI BVP certification as listed by the facility
• Compliance with facility health requirements including drug screening, immunizations, TB testing and fit testing
• Comfort working night shifts and covering every other weekend and holiday
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Competence with neonatal and pediatric respiratory interventions
• Skilled in arterial blood gas collection and interpretation
• Familiarity with respiratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and escalate care appropriately
• Proven teamwork and clear documentation practices
