Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely following facility policy
- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and changes in condition in a timely manner
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
- Participate in shift handoffs and maintain clear, professional communication with the care team
- Follow infection control practices and facility procedures to ensure resident safety
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — ready to practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or able to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and providing hands-on resident care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a multidisciplinary team
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but not required
Education
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medication administration and documentation best practices
- Skilled in resident assessment, basic wound care, and vital sign monitoring
- Familiarity with electronic health records or willingness to learn quickly
- Good time management, prioritized care delivery, and clear charting habits
- Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to RN leadership
