Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; 3x12-hour days per week with rotating evenings and weekend call (specific start/end times vary by schedule)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients in the post-anesthesia care unit, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based post-anesthesia nursing care following ANA standards
- Coordinate and communicate care with anesthesia, surgical teams and unit staff to ensure smooth handoffs
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC (EPIC experience required)
- Provide leadership on the unit by working cooperatively with clinical personnel and supporting shared governance
- Participate in unit initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of PACU processes
- Maintain required certifications and immunizations to meet facility and agency standards
Qualifications
- Minimum two years RN PACU experience required
- Current RN license to practice in Colorado (must be in good standing)
- EPIC experience required (facility is converting to EPIC in April 2026)
- BLS through the American Heart Association (required)
- ACLS through the American Heart Association (required)
- PALS through the American Heart Association (required)
- Flu vaccine required for 2025/2026 season — no exemptions
- Ability to work rotating evening shifts and weekend call as part of the schedule
Education
- Current RN license to practice in Colorado (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in post-anesthesia patient assessment and monitoring
- Familiarity with PACU workflows and standards of nursing practice
- Competence using EPIC for documentation and clinical workflows
- Comfort working 12-hour shifts and adapting to rotating schedules
- Teamwork, leadership, and engagement in shared governance
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate clearly with surgical and anesthesia teams
