Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver precise radiation treatments using linear accelerators and simulators to support excellent patient outcomes
- Perform dosimetry checks and assist with block cutting and treatment setup to ensure accurate therapy delivery
- Chart treatment plans and patient progress accurately in Cerner so the care team stays informed
- Follow radiation safety protocols and participate in quality assurance activities to maintain a safe environment
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and multidisciplinary staff to coordinate patient care
- Provide compassionate patient education and emotional support throughout treatment
Qualifications
- Current Therapeutic Radiology license issued by the state of California
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification as a Radiation Therapist
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in radiation oncology
- Demonstrated experience with linear accelerators, simulators, dosimetry, and block cutting
- Comfortable using Cerner or similar electronic charting systems
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in radiation therapy equipment and procedures including linear accelerators and simulators
- Strong understanding of dosimetry and treatment planning basics
- Working knowledge of radiation safety standards and QA processes
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, ideally Cerner
- Excellent communication, patient-care skills, and attention to detail
