Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU/CCU patients, delivering assessments and timely interventions
• Manage complex patient needs including cardiac monitoring and post-operative critical care
• Document accurately and efficiently using EPIC to ensure seamless communication across the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary staff during level II trauma responses
• Float to Med/Surg or other units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient safety
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear explanations during stressful times
• Maintain required certifications and support unit quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Prior traveler experience (required)
• Proficiency in EPIC charting and electronic documentation (required)
• Experience in ICU and/or CCU; experience at a Level II trauma center is a plus
• Willingness to float to Med/Surg and other units as needed
• Comfort working 12-hour night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing knowledge — ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring basics
• Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic chart navigation
• Trauma-informed care and rapid response familiarity
• Excellent clinical judgment and prioritization under pressure
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt quickly when floating between units
