Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care in inpatient interventional radiology, ensuring patient safety during procedures
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation, watching vitals and patient comfort closely
• Manage patient recovery and handoffs with clear, thorough documentation in EPIC
• Collaborate with radiologists, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless care
• Maintain sterile technique and procedural readiness — prepare rooms, equipment, and patients
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care, and recovery expectations
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate concerns according to policy

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of interventional radiology nursing experience
• Experience working with the EPIC EMR system
• Demonstrated experience with procedural sedation and patient recovery
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Interventional radiology procedures and patient monitoring
• Procedural sedation protocols and airway/vital sign management
• Post-procedure recovery care and complication recognition
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR documentation and electronic charting
• Aseptic technique, vascular access familiarity, and equipment setup
• Clear communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
