Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered physical therapy treatments and assist with therapeutic interventions
• Perform guided exercise programs, manual therapy techniques, and functional mobility training
• Accurately document treatments and progress in Cerner to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with PTs, nursing, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and progression toward goals
• Assist with patient transfers, mobility devices, and discharge planning as directed
• Maintain professional standards, infection control, and safety while delivering compassionate care

Qualifications

• Current State Physical Therapy Assistant license or ability to obtain one
• BLS Certification required (must be current)
• Minimum 2 years of PTA experience (outpatient focus preferred)
• Experience with Cerner or similar electronic health records strongly preferred
• Comfort working in both outpatient and occasional inpatient settings (90% outpatient / 10% inpatient)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the care team

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Outpatient therapeutic interventions and patient progression
• Basic inpatient mobility and safety practices
• Proficiency in documentation and charting in Cerner
• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and assistive device education
• Strong patient education and motivational interviewing skills
• Time management and prioritization across a varied caseload
