Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic sonography exams across abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, neonatal, and superficial structures with accuracy and compassion
• Acquire and interpret high-quality ultrasound images using Canon i700 and PACS systems to support timely clinical decisions
• Assist with and perform procedural guidance including aspirations, biopsies, drainages and intraoperative ultrasound
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings clearly to physicians and care teams
• Provide attentive patient care—preparing patients, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort and safety
• Float to other units as needed to maintain department coverage and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech EMR and adhere to departmental protocols and infection-control standards

Qualifications

• ARDMS credential(s) required: AB (Abdomen), OB (Obstetrics), and RVT (Vascular Sonography)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an acute hospital setting performing diagnostic ultrasound
• Current BLS — American Heart Association (AHA) certification required
• Proven ability to perform invasive ultrasound-guided procedures (aspirations, biopsies, drainages, intraoperative assistance)
• Comfortable using Canon i700, Fuji Synapse PACS, and Meditech EMR or similar systems
• Strong patient care skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced hospital environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic medical sonography and ultrasound imaging across multiple specialties
• Abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, neonatal, and superficial structures sonography
• Transvaginal and transabdominal techniques, carotid duplex, venous and arterial duplex, and segmental pressure studies
• Procedural ultrasound guidance for aspirations, biopsies and drainages
• Image acquisition best practices and image interpretation to support clinical teams
• Familiarity with Canon i700, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS
• Strong communication, patient-care, and teamwork skills
