Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for general and OB/GYN patients with accuracy and compassion
• Acquire, evaluate and optimize ultrasound images to support diagnostic decisions
• Provide patient positioning, clear instruction and age-specific care for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Document exams and patient data reliably in PACS and RIS to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform QA checks and report maintenance needs promptly
• Adhere to infection control practices and HIPAA to protect patients and staff
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond promptly when needed and provide timely imaging support
• Contribute to department quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency through continuing education

Qualifications

• Meets requirements for registry by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) — registry eligible required
• Experience in diagnostic medical sonography; six months of ultrasound experience preferred
• Skilled in OB/GYN sonography and comfortable working with adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Familiarity with PACS and RIS documentation workflows
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and respond to 24-hour page/beeper notifications
• Ability to follow infection control procedures and departmental QA protocols
• Strong communication skills to explain procedures and collaborate with physicians and care teams

Education

• Ability to transport patients and safely move equipment when needed
