Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients across the unit
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients, using strong critical thinking to prioritize care
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform clinical procedures safely and accurately
• Perform cardiac monitoring and stroke assessments (NIHSS) to support rapid intervention
• Lead or participate in emergency responses and code situations as needed
• Document patient care thoroughly in the electronic health record and communicate clearly with the care team
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and maintain required skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Iowa) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Current fit test, Trinity 10 panel drug screen, and required immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, and 2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Physical/Health Statement and ability to pass Trinity Color Vision screening
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and triage skills with attention to detail
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and acute care interventions
• Experience with stroke assessment (NIHSS) and trauma care (TNCC)
• Comfortable with IV therapy, medication administration, and EHR documentation
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead during emergencies
• Commitment to continuous learning and following evidence-based protocols
