Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care for assigned patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly report changes to the care team
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and discharge planning
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be valid for practice in Iowa)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience in telemetry monitoring and medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing, skills checklist and required health screenings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Solid med-surg assessment and intervention skills
• Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and adherence to required vaccinations and screenings
