Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy services across outpatient, inpatient and long-term care settings
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient
• Deliver home visits and village-based care, adapting treatment to limited-resource settings
• Teach ADL and therapeutic exercise programs and use modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation when appropriate
• Document patient care clearly and communicate effectively with medical staff and administrative teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Modify care plans based on age-specific and patient-specific needs, demonstrating cultural respect
• Participate in competency checks, required screening, and onboarding processes to maintain compliance

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in Alaska OR holding a good-standing OT license in another state while awaiting Alaska licensure
• Current NBCOT certification required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (required)
• No minimum clinical experience required — new grads welcome; clinical experience preferred
• Ability to meet comprehensive onboarding requirements (immunizations/titers, background checks, drug screen, ID/SSN, references)
• Comfort with travel (village travel/home visits) and working with culturally diverse populations

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

• Home visit and village travel clinical skills
• ADL training and therapeutic exercise prescription
• Experience with ultrasound and electrical stimulation modalities
