Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care for adults on a telemetry/oncology unit, focusing on safety and dignity
• Monitor continuous cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias with clinical confidence
• Administer and manage antineoplastic therapies and supportive treatments following protocols (chemo administration experience preferred)
• Perform and manage advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP) and tracheostomy care
• Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage IV therapy using Alaris pump systems
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure clear communication of patient status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, RT, pharmacy, social work, radiology) to coordinate holistic care
• Lead infection prevention and fall-prevention measures to protect vulnerable oncology patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Ohio (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet experience requirements within the most recent 3 years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass)
• Telemetry and oncology experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification required; chemotherapy administration certification or experience preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic charting required
• Comfort floating to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of cardiac dysrhythmias and emergency cardiac response
• Oncology patient care including symptom management related to chemotherapy
• Administration of chemotherapy and familiarity with antineoplastic orders
• BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IV access
• Proficiency with Epic, Alaris pumps, and GE/B450 telemetry systems
• Strong patient education, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary communication skills
