Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct and guide hospital staff in applying policies, procedures and best practices
- Organize workflow and ensure staff understand assigned duties and delegated tasks
- Monitor employee productivity and deliver constructive feedback and coaching
- Oversee utilization and assignment of nursing resources to optimize patient flow
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and the CNO on administrative decision-making
- Respond to patient and family concerns and ensure excellent service recovery
- Work closely with charge nurses and non-clinical staff to coordinate care
- Assume supervisory responsibility during assigned shifts and support unit operations
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required)
- CPR certification (required)
- ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
- Minimum 3 years' RN experience in a hospital setting with recent ICU experience
- Demonstrated experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines and chest tubes
- Experience using multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment
- Proven leadership experience such as charge, resource nurse or nurse leadership roles
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills; ability to lead and mentor teams
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced nursing principles and clinical leadership
- Patient flow management and resource allocation
- Cardiac monitoring and post-operative care
- Critical thinking and independent decision-making on busy shifts
- Excellent communication with clinical and non-clinical teams
- Proficiency with basic office equipment and documentation systems
- Ability to initiate and manage special projects to improve care delivery
- Compassionate patient- and family-centered care across the lifespan (infancy to geriatrics)
