Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform blood bank testing including Type and Screens with precision and care
• Run and interpret chemistry and hematology assays, ensuring accurate patient results
• Conduct QC, correlations and routine maintenance on lab instruments to maintain top performance
• Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation such as Abbott Alinity, XN2000, ACL TOPS and IH-Reader
• Document results and workflows in MEDITECH Expanse and maintain compliant records
• Assist with microbiology tasks like gram staining, set ups and PCR testing when needed
• Float across lab areas to support the team and ensure continuity of high-quality patient care

Qualifications

• MLS(ASCP) certification (required)
• Bachelor of Science or Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
• Minimum 1 year clinical laboratory experience (blood bank, chemistry, hematology preferred)
• Comfortable working night shifts, weekends and participating in on-call coverage
• Experience with laboratory QC, instrument maintenance and correlation activities
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; flexible scheduling mindset

Education

• MLS(ASCP) certification
• Bachelor of Science OR Associate in Science (Medical Laboratory Science or related)

Knowledge & Skills

• Blood Bank procedures, Type & Screens
• Clinical Chemistry and Hematology testing
• Quality control (QC), correlations and instrument maintenance
• Familiarity with Abbott Alinity, XN2000, ACL TOPS, IH-Reader and Clinitek UA
• Experience with MEDITECH Expanse EMR
• Microbiology basics: gram staining, set ups and PCR testing
