Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and interventions to patients with respiratory insufficiencies and critical needs
• Manage mechanical ventilation and perform ventilator adjustments safely and effectively
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases to guide clinical decision making
• Administer respiratory therapies including nebulizers, CPAP, BiPAP, CPT, and other therapeutic modalities
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Support a fast-paced unit by prioritizing tasks, triaging effectively, and maintaining a patient-first focus

Qualifications

• Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• BLS, ACLS, NRP required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis
• Meditech EMR experience preferred by the director
• Trauma experience is a plus and will be considered first

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral familiarity a plus)
• ABG analysis and interpretation
• CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer therapies, and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Strong critical thinking, triage, and patient assessment skills
• Clear, collaborative communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and EMR navigation (Meditech)
