Shift Type: Rotating shifts (day & night), 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; Weekend rotation

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and manage critically ill surgical ICU patients with strong clinical judgment and compassion
- Perform and monitor procedures such as chest tubes, intubations, central and arterial lines
- Provide safe enteral and urinary care, including NG tube and Foley catheter management
- Deliver meticulous dressing changes and wound care to support patient recovery
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate handoffs clearly
- Respond to emergencies using ACLS/BLS protocols and maintain a calm, decisive approach
- Adhere to unit guidelines, attendance policies, and badge-in/out requirements
Qualifications
- Active TX RN License required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/SICU experience (2-3+ years preferred)
- Experience with chest tubes, intubations, central/arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
- Meditech documentation experience preferred
- Exposure to MICU/MSICU, IABP, or CRRT is a plus
- Willingness to float per Methodist Floating Policy
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical thinking and strong assessment skills in high-acuity settings
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Proficiency with invasive lines and bedside procedures
- Clear, empathetic communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
- Accurate electronic charting (Meditech) and thorough handoff practices
- Ability to manage changing priorities and work well on a rotating schedule
