Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a high-volume ED
• Assess, triage and monitor patients using Cerner documentation and GE monitors
• Safely administer and manage infusion therapy using Baxter pumps
• Collaborate closely with the ED team, techs and unit clerks to maintain smooth operations
• Coach peers and deliver constructive feedback in real time to support team performance
• Maintain excellent patient experience standards using AIDET and clear communication
• Adhere to unit policies and participate in every-other-weekend coverage as scheduled

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as a nurse, with at least 1 year of ER experience
• Preferred: 2 years in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a very high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and give feedback in real time
• Willingness to float within all areas of the Emergency Department

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
• Strong triage skills and familiarity with ED patient ratios (typically 4:1)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency environment
• Excellent communication, patient experience focus and cultural sensitivity
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
